my man come back

by Daniel R. Robichaud

my man come back
this afternoon
wearing his uniform
ashamed and afraid
just like a child
he come to say 'guh-bye'
hard to see him
he's all broke up
but soon he'll come again
just like he done
ever' day since
his coffin was flown home

Daniel R. Robichaud and his wife are currently on safari in the wilds of central Massachusetts. A native to the lower penninsula of Michigan, Daniel is quite accustomed to indicating his place of birth on the palm of his right hand. Alas this only raises eyebrows in his new home. Daniel's poetry and fiction can be found in a variety of electronic and print publications, including Rogue Worlds, Scifaikuest and Aberrent Dreams. His favorite fruit is the apricot.
