Writer, jeweler, reviewer; knitter, baker, icon-maker; a little bit jack (of the trades sort, not the beanstalk1), Deborah J. Brannon lives perennially in the South where she drinks too much tea and admires the tenacity of kudzu. She studies Victorian literature professionally, dabbles in Shakespeare, and glories in her fairy tale habit. Her poetry has appeared in Scheherezade’s Bequest, The Pedestal Magazine, and on her website, while reviews she has written have appeared at Cabinet des Fées and Green Man Review.

Her love for peaches is immeasurable, although allegations of theft from the local goblin orchards are completely baseless. Never mind her blissed-out expression and sticky fingers: she has a receipt somewhere enumerating the exchange of one red lock for the luscious fruit. Really.

Those interested in her icons should follow her Livejournal, where she periodically posts icons inspired by Seanan McGuire's "Wicked Girls Saving Ourselves", Catherynne M. Valente's The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making, and more.

And as it wouldn't be a birthday party without some kind of cake... Shweta Narayan has lain claim to all the day's shiny by offering up the following, with the help of Sharon Mock and Zak Jarvis:

We can't promise they won't bite back.
